On 17 October 2013, the UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, Caritas beider Basel launched the KulturLegi.

The KulturLegi offers people on a tight budget discounts on cultural, sporting and educational activities, enabling them to participate in social life and promoting active, independent integration. 
The KulturLegi for both Basel cantons also serves as a shopping card for the Caritas-Markt.

Currently over 5,500 KulturLegi users in both Basel cantons

In 2024, over 5,000 people in the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft used the KulturLegi. The KulturLegi continues to evolve and is geared towards the needs of users and partners. Together, we strive for innovative solutions. We work in an impact-oriented manner – increasing the quality and usefulness of the offer. Over 300 institutions and companies from the fields of culture, sport, education and health are involved in the KulturLegi in the Basel region. They offer KulturLegi users a discount of 30 to 100 per cent on their offers. This provides these people with noticeable financial relief. Browse offers.

You can apply for KulturLegi at Caritas beider Basel, KulturLegi, Lindenberg 20, 4058 Basel or online. The card is valid for one year and can be renewed thereafter.
